The SOHO (SOlar and Heliospheric Observatory) is a joint project of ESA and NASA to study the internal structure and the outer atmosphere of the Sun as well as the origin of the solar wind. Launched in 1995, SOHO revolutionized our understanding of the Sun-Earth connections providing an unprecedented breadth and depth of information; most of its detectors are still operational to date.

From our group Karoly Kecskeméty is a Co-I of the COSTEP/LION low-energy ion and electron instrument onboard SOHO.
